Here is an update regarding OSAAT; this is an excerpt from an email from Jordin's World. I can't believe it, it's almost been a whole year since Jordin was crowned the season 6 American Idol and she has come so far!

Jordin's next single, One Step at a Time, is being added to pop radio on June 10th, and the music video is in the works! Also, Jordin's hit single with Chris Brown, No Air, has been nominated for the "Viewer's Choice" award at the very prestigious BET Awards! Voting is rumored to start in late May, but make sure to keep checking back for details on it! Jordin deserves this!

I can't wait for the single to hit the radios, I hope people will get hooked by its upbeat sound. I hope it does well!

Lyrics Section

I finished this section a few weeks ago but I still had yet to do the four songs, so I was going to wait but I figure there is no point in holding off the other songs until then. So check it out, it's just a simple way to see her lyrics.

Wow, an actual gallery update. I feel kind of proud of myself haha, but then I lost all pride when I saw the empty folders that I had planned to fill a while back. Those will be coming hopefully before summer, but if not then definitely once summer starts.

These are from the set of Jordin's new video for "One Step At A Time" which is set to be her next single! She looks amazing, I can't wait to see the vid.
Jordin Nominated For Talented Young People Award
Posted on May 07, 2008 by Max 0 Comments
This is exciting! Jordin is up for another award, this time for the Talented Young People organization:

The Talented Young Person of the month award has been set up by the Talented Young People organisation to recognise young people who are excelling with their talent.

The awards aren't just about the amount of money they are earning or the notoriety someone has the judging is done on an individual basis and is based on criteria such as improvement, level, impact and dedication. As well as recognizing household names we want to also recognise talented young people who don't get the amount of attention that famous young people do.

The top 5 to select from for the May Award are:

Alex Etel - Actor and star of 'The Water Horse'
Caitlin Stasey - Star of Australian Soap Neighbours
Jack McManus - British Singer / Songwriter
Jordin Sparks - American singing sensation
Gabriella Cilmi - Australian Singer / Songwriter

Jordin Is Sparkling Again

Here's more on her vocal rest:

Jordin Sparks is officially back in business after her vocal cord injury, reports OK! Magazine.

Jordin had been forced to sit out the opening dates of Alicia Keys‘ North American tour due to what was described as an acute vocal cord hemorrhage condition.

But Jordin was seen filming her new promo, believed to be for the next single from her self-titled album, in Los Angeles. The 18-year-old American Idol winner appeared in good health and was all smiles.

She also told MTV that, “I’m feeling good. “I’m supposed to be on full vocal rest, which means no talking, laughing, giggling, and singing. Can I tell you how hard that is!? I want to tell my fans: Thank you for all the prayers and your concern. You guys are what keep me going, honestly. But not to worry! I’ll be better in no time!”

I feel I owe everyone an explanation. Yes my router was out and now it is fixed, but I have also been heavily considering closing the site recently. I feel I'm a little overstressed at the moment with school and friends and my job where I'm not sure I have enough time to even devote myself to the site as much as I should. But I really don't want to close the site because Jordin is amazing and I love having a fansite for her. I may go on hiatus though, and that would be the possibility I prefer over closing. I'll let everyone know what's happening once I decide, which should be soon.
Jordin Recovering
Posted on Apr 25, 2008 by Max 0 Comments
An update on the vocal injury:

Despite reports, reps say Jordin Sparks did not suffer a "career-threatening" vocal cord injury this week. Rumors were circulating that last year's American Idol winner had an "acute vocal cord hemorrhage." But Sparks'spokesperson told Us Magazine, "Jordin is on vocal rest and is expected to make a full recovery. There is no life-threatening issue." Sparks is now expected to join Alicia Keys on tour next month.

In the meantime, Sparks is expected to rest her voice. Her record label rep added, "Now she's going through the normal course of learning how to manage and care for her voice."

The 18-year-old singer was forced to cancel a round of tour dates, including the first few nights of her outing with Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo this past weekend. Sparks was scheduled as the opening act.

Sparks also scrapped a performance in State College, Pennsylvania, on Sunday (April 20th) and an Earth Day show on the National Mall in Washington, DC on Monday (April 21st).

I'm glad to hear Jordin is going to make a full recovery.
Jordin May Lose Her Voice
Posted on Apr 22, 2008 by Max 0 Comments
This is not good.

A vocal chord injury could permanently strip "American Idol" season six winner Jordin Sparks of her singing voice if she does not abide by doctor's orders and rest, several throat specialists told ABCNEWS.com.

Scarring from a vocal chord injury could make a difference for a professional singer, said Dr. Peter Catalano, chairman of the department of otolaryngology at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. "It may change your ability to sing certain types of songs or potentially, if it's really bad, affect your ability to sing altogether."

Sparks was diagnosed with an acute vocal chord hemorrhage, an injury similar to a blood blister that results from the overuse of vocal chords. The condition is most often seen in people who use their voice professionally, such as attorneys, teachers or, as in the "American Idol" case, singers.

Numerous crooners, including Elton John, Steven Tyler (lead singer of Aerosmith) and Jessica Simpson, have reportedly had their careers temporarily sidelined by vocal injuries.

I think it's very important that Jordin rest up and take a break from singing for a while. She's been working extremely hard for the past year ever since she won American Idol and with all the performances, I am surprised this didn't happen sooner. I hope she gets better and everything still sounds great once this tides over. Poor Jordin :(.

And thank you to commenter Dre for posting an article about this a few days ago.
Router Out
Posted on Apr 21, 2008 by Max 0 Comments
So my computer really enjoys conveniently dying on me. Currently our wireless router is completely useless and I cannot get a connection on my computer, where basically everything is. I had all the pictures ready to upload and was waiting for a day when I could sit down and do it, but it may take just a few more days. I promise I'll do it ASAP when I get a connection again.
